MARIO ARANA Architectural DESIGNER 

Project Program:
The Space Shuttle Endevour was approaching and the main goal was to exhibit the shuttle to its full glory. The California Science Center was awarded the Endevour shuttle and it was in the process of deciding where to place it. Students studied the exposition park area and decided, based on analysis, where the best location to build the exhibition hall is. Along with the site analysis each student is to perform a cultural analysis of the surrounding area. The space program has national and local roots Los Angeles has played a big role in the development of the shuttle program. The building had to include an administration wing, an exhibition wing, storage, gift shop, and a wild card space.

Objective:
Exploration of cultural customs in the city of Los Angeles, and create a building that encompasses different entities.

Concept:
Looking at the rich cultural history of Los Angeles, it gave me the inspiration and path to my final concept. People from different background come together in harmony to live and start a life in the same spatial are. Although there are differences, everything works together unifying the community and seeing the community as a whole. This lead me to the Big Bang Theory which is the idea on how everything as we know came about. The Big Bang Theory has four forces that include, strong nuclear force, weak nuclear force, electromagnetism and gravitational force which at one point were hold together unifying the four elements.
