MARIO ARANA Architectural DESIGNER

Project Program:
The Domino House designed by Le Corbusier in 1914 was invented as a response to the early devastation of trench warfare in Flanders. The Domino house was a reinforced concrete structural frame with basic services onto which people could build with the remains of the traditional houses, or factory made components.
Objective:
The intention of this project was to design a building using Corbusier’s structural methods. The site was superficial, but other student’s structures were placed right beside each other which influenced my design. The major component was to choose a craft which meant a traditional art that uses traditional methods. I decided to go with the crafting of an instrument, which is the classic violin.
Concept:
Approaching the design was to pay close attention on the tools and steps it takes to finish crafting a violin from scratch. Crafting a violin with the highest sound quality is the main purpose. I based my concept around the instruments sound post which is the core the instruments acoustical quality and build intention.
