MARIO ARANA Architectural DESIGNER

Project Program:
To design a structural cover and multi-use, fully accessible viewing platforms located at Egret Park (Riverside Drive @ I-5 Freeway) for the observation, viewing and overall enjoyment of the Southern California Metro Link train system and it enters the Southern California Regional Rail Authority Taylor Yard maintenance facility across the LA River from Egret Park.
Objective:
Study alternative ways in which the articulation of structural geometry, structural materialist and human activities can furnish different ways of approaching inhabiting and perceiving space. To also take into consideration of variable such as only 3 points of support, ADA compliance ramp, and 10-foot head height clearance.
Concept:
The division between two worlds and implementation of angular cues throughout the project.
